An hour of spectacular toe-tapping music presented by Vitaliy V. Bezrodnov
- Russian Accordion and the award-winning trio Moscow Nights. The program includes Russian folk music and dance and classic all selections, on various instruments including: Russian Accordion, Balalaika and contrabass Balalaika, folk flute and spoons, plus vocals. Audience participation and interaction is integral and encouraged. Donations could be in the form of a free-will offering, taken at the conclusion of the program.(There is minimum requered - depends where, when, which event...) The money collected is put into accounts earmarked specifically for these projects. The Music in Mission funds will be held within the East Ohio Conference Office and The Children of St. Petersburg funds within the Presbytery of the Western Reserve |

Music in Mission - The Children of Kursk --- aims to raise money for the orphans of Kursk, Russia.The Children of St. Petersburg --- aims to raise money for the orphans of St. Petersburg, Russia.Through a conference-wide and presbytery-wide series of ongoing concerts, by the band Moscow Nights. The goal of these projects is to raise money to buy supplies, medicine etc. (whatever is needed) for the orphans and to fund and oversee the direct distribution of such.

Through Russian folk music we hope to reach the hearts of others and to break through the last half century of cultural barriers that arose between the two countries. These entertaining, educational concerts help to generate enthusiasm and put a face to the cause, thus increasing people's awareness of a most dire situation, that these children face. The Soviet government had a system for caring for these children. Now that government is gone and the new system isn't there yet, but the children still are. It is important to reach the broadest base of people interested in helping and donating by promoting this project in the most efficient manner possible. Anyone interested in hosting a Music in Mission concert or a Children of St. Petersburg concert, need only contact the band directly. There is no cost to the host and advertising packets are available. In order to be the most effective this project must be ongoing with concerts scheduled on a regular and frequent basis as mission teams are going to Russia quarterly and need the generation of funds to depend on. This is an independently sponsored charity that has the support and endorsement of several mission groups including United Methodist Volunteers in Mission to Russia, and the Presbyterian General Assembly.
